How can I cash a check after the payer signed his name on the back in the where the payee usually signs first?
I received a check from Ricky Jones for $10 for he wants to pay me the amount he owes. On the front it is made payable to the order Steve Smith, which is me. The payer Ricky Jones signed the front of the check where the payer should sign. However, instead of leaving the top space for the Endorser blank on the back for me, Steve Smith to sign, Ricky Jones signs the check or endorses it. May I, Steve Smith, sign my name to endorse the check below Ricky Joneses name and still take that check to the bank to be deposited or cashed after Ricky Jones endorsed it first? Or shall I tell Ricky Jones to write me another check without endorsing the back first and leave it blank for me to sign it? Please give me help or feedback someone.
