How does this poem relate to belonging ?

Im guessing this poem has to do with the settlements of the whites on the indians land sooo this poem relates to belonging by the indians being the first arrival of that land. The land being one with the indians; peaceful, calm, uniting, a legend. Another reason for why the indians belong on that land over the whites. The whites r total opposite.
