Julius Caesar was the first Roman emperor that aspired to godhood. You could have his tombstone say: "Julius Caesar was the first to claim divinity/Like Daedalus he fell short of reaching to infinity". Or, because he was stabbed to death by his allleged friend Brutus on the steps of the Roman Forum, you could write his last words: "And you too, Brutus?" I think he was the one who also said "I came, I saw, I conquered." Or how about "This particular Son of God died"?
